You can browse, filter, and call a pro without giving us anything. There is no account and no sign-in.

If you recommend a pro, we store the name you type, the town you say you host in, your email address, your optional note, and a random identifier kept in a cookie in your browser. Your name and town go on the pro's listing. Your email never does: it is there so we can email you a link to confirm the recommendation was really yours, and so the pro can reach you about the job. We also keep a simplified copy of the address — lowercased, with any plus-tag removed — purely to stop one mailbox filing the same recommendation over and over.

We store what you enter on the listing form: business name, contact person, category, towns served, phone, email, optional website and rate, and your description. Everything except your email address is shown publicly, because that is the point of a directory listing.

We also generate a private edit link for you. Anyone holding that link can edit your listing, so treat it like a password and do not post it publicly.

Paid upgrades are handled by Stripe. Card details go straight to Stripe and never reach our servers. We keep only the customer and subscription identifiers Stripe gives us, so we know which listing a subscription belongs to.

We do not run advertising trackers or sell data to anyone. The site sets two cookies, neither of which follows you anywhere: the recommendation identifier described above, and, if you open a listing's private edit link, a one-way fingerprint of that link so the same browser cannot also write recommendations for that listing.

We do count two things per listing, per day, so the pro who owns it can see whether the site is working for them: how many times their page was opened, and how many times someone tapped their call button. Those are totals and nothing else. We do not store who you are, where you came from, your address, or anything that could be tied back to you, and no pro can see anything about an individual visitor.

Email hello@hostfield.app from the address on your listing and we will delete the listing and everything attached to it. To remove a recommendation you left, email us with the pro's name and roughly when you posted it.
